Competitive Bidding: Shut it down completely!
11/5/2011
Popular press is finally recognizing that CMS's so called "competitive bidding" program hatched by and against all odds, still being stuffed down the throats of beneficiaries, providers, and congress, is a train wreck and must be stopped NOW.
The following article from Huffington Post discusses taking first steps to modernizing entitlement programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. The Super Committee can take the long-term view of reform with steps that will move away from the failed approach of Washington micro-management and toward modern reforms that rely on consumer choice and market competition.
In this article, competitive bidding is described as a program that is actually driving out competition and violating all the rules of a market-driven bidding system. In order to save consumer choice and access to quality medical goods and services, this program should be SHUT DOWN!
All providers should forward this article to their members of Congress and ask that they help shut down the competitive bidding program, as well as save beneficiary's choice and access to quality care.
